An entry-level presence
A small, entry-level Web site may just be a single page of information, such as a product marketing brochure. The information could be the same as that contained in one of your printed brochures. Of course, you would take advantage of the added value the Internet medium provides, such as allowing people to contact you directly by email from your Web page.

A more extensive presence
[Top]
You may want to start with a more extensive presence involving a hierarchy of information. You may need support for user interaction, such as online ordering, or more specialised email response. You may choose to host your information at an existing Web site, or possibly establish your own. Your site needs to be marketed, updated, maintained and monitored for which you may have the in-house skills or you may wish to contract out for a time. A disciplined approach is needed to ensure that your business and technical needs are met.

Connecting to the Internet

Your choice of Internet service provider should be based your business needs, including the type of connection, the level of service and capability on offer. Considering these aspects at the start, helps to avoid changing suppliers sooner than you'd like.
