The story of a young Christian musician by MARGARET ANN JAMES | |
Michael James died shortly after his thirtieth birthday, just before taking up the post of Assistant Organist at Rochester Cathedral. He was full of the joys of life, of God, of music, taking the next step in his distinguished career.
Margaret, Michael’s mother, tells his story, with extracts from Michael’s diaries. It is a story told with feeling and humour, revealing moments of great happiness and sadness. Michael’s strong Christian faith helped him to bear the loss of two friends of his own age. It gave him the courage and acceptance in facing his own death. It is deeply moving. It reveals how the family dealt with bereavement, of their own faith, and of The Michael James Music Trust they established in his memory to continue his musicianship.
MARGARET ANN JAMES
The postwar years brought about a change of direction. After an almost uninterrupted career in the Theatre, Margaret concentrated on Radio during Michael’s upbringing.
This is Margaret’s first book. In it she relates the joys and the anguish encountered during those years.
